Jeannie Seely

“Life’s Highway” is the latest groundbreaking act by Grand Ole Opry star Jeannie Seely. This 2003 OMS Records release gathered together a bunch of Jeannie’s friends and Opry family. The result is a collection of talent and an abundance of fun. You’ll listen to this one over and over again!

From the Opry family there are the mandolins of Bobby Osborne, Buck White, and Jesse McReynolds, the guitar work of Steve Wariner, and the vocals of The Osborne Brothers, Charlie Louvin, and The Whites. And there is also the famous Dobro of the inimitable Josh Graves (also an OMS Records recording artist) who created his sound on the stage of the Opry with Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs, and changed bluegrass and country music forever.

Suffice it to say that success has followed Jeannie Seely. In addition to world tours, she has appeared on television shows, performed in theatre productions, and has written songs for other artists including Dottie West, Connie Smith, Doyle Lawson, Faron Young, Willie Nelson and Ray Price. As a country music performer she earned the nickname “Miss Country Soul.”

Even today the Opry remains her family and Jeannie is still having loads of fun. “When you are already doing and living your life dream, just to keep doing it every year is wonderful,” Seely says. “I don’t take lightly, at all, how fortunate I’ve been to be a part of the Grand Ole Opry and to meet, know, listen and work with such a talented group of country music artists that I’m also able to call my friends.”

A host of other great musicians create the festive sound of a family pickin’ party. And shining through it all is the powerful voice of Jeannie Seely, singing with a passion that few can emulate, and having a great time with her musical family.
